Revitalizing Birsingha


The tender process of Revitalization of Birsingha Village is complete and the execution of the project is underway! The project strategizes to conserve two historic institutions of the village, associated with one of the stalwarts of the Bengal Renaissance, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. Furthermore, to achieve a unique experience of the heritage site for cultural tourists and academicians, new inserts evolved from local traditional technology have been proposed.

Reshamkhana at Solina


The Appropriate Alternative, Kolkata has bagged the second prize for the Retrofitting of Reshamkhana – Silk Filatures at Solina at Srinagar, a competition put forward by the Jammu and Kashmir Silk Board. The retrofitted Reshamkhana is designed to act as an institution that is strongly influenced by historic markers, existing craft traditions and material practices, combined with new programmes and functions to create long-term viability and resilience.

Transforming Uttor Kolkata


Retrofitting an existing residential space, Uttor Kolkata outlines the true potential of responsible design practice in a holistic sense, encompassing the tangible and intangible aspects of life to manifest as a commercially viable and unique public destination. The project attempts to revive memories and experiences of North Calcutta by integrating familiar architectural elements, weaving an exciting narrative and achieving a universal appeal.

Sahayta - Reimagining Clinical Spaces


Using the opportunity to engage with a new Psychiatric and Neuro Developmental Centre - Sahayta, our design approach focuses on creating fluid spaces with materials and textures that are therapeutic and vibrant, while making the best use of available resources. The project uses a sensitive design approach to cater to user needs and reinvents the spatial and psychological experience of a standard clinical space.
