Located in Tangra, Kolkata’s historic Chinatown district, the iLEAD Creative Campus transformed a disused tannery warehouse into a vibrant educational and community-focused campus.
Developed in collaboration with iLEAD Kolkata, the project responds to the socio-economic shifts that reshaped the neighbourhood by creating spaces for education, skill development, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. The programme includes training and school facilities, skill-building spaces, a bakery, a beauty parlour, and rooftop gathering areas.
The intervention focused on strategic spatial retrofitting while maximising the reuse of existing materials and industrial remnants. Waste and scrap materials were repurposed throughout the project, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and resource efficiency.
Today, the campus stands as a model for neighbourhood regeneration through adaptive reuse, creating both architectural renewal and meaningful social impact.
