Located within Kolkata’s historic Queen’s Mansion on Park Street, Satramdas Dhalamal is a couture jewellery showroom with a distinguished legacy dating back to 1890.
The project reimagined the space as a contemporary retail destination that reflects the brand’s heritage of craftsmanship and elegance. A key intervention involved clearing an underutilised mezzanine to reveal the full 18-foot ceiling height, restoring the heritage detailing and grandeur of the original interior.
A refined palette of wood and glass, custom-designed furniture, and carefully curated antiques create a sophisticated setting that balances contemporary design with historic character, enhancing the display of the jewellery collections.
The project was recognised with the IIID MK Design Award for its sensitive approach to heritage interior design.
