The School of Planning and Architecture, one of India’s premier institutions dedicated to the built environment, served as the foundation for this proposed campus design. The urban design concept was envisioned as a catalyst for critical engagement with environmental concerns—an institution that would question, influence, and safeguard the future of sustainable planning and design.
Conceived with the vision of planting the seed for a robust and resilient future, the proposal focuses on creating activities and spatial elements that anchor a strong sense of place within the campus. This is reinforced through efficient systems of movement, integrated building services, strong functional and visual connections, and a thoughtfully designed landscape framework.
Several responsible design interventions—including site-level water conservation systems, high-efficiency service infrastructure, and environmental safeguards—were incorporated to establish a holistic and sustainable set of development controls for the campus.
